On our recent trip to Vermont we drove as far as Syracuse NY the first day. Last year, we made it as far as Syracuse and started looking for a motel. We go stuck paying over $* for an average hotel with a take it or leave it attitude from several of the motels we stopped at. This year we tried Travelocity and ended up with nice room for $* a night. I like the 3rating systems. Stars , Smiley faces and Reviews. The motel we chose had only a 1 star, but we paid more attention to the reviews. The Red Carpet Inn was clean, spacious and accomodating, not to mention the friendly, helpful clerk ""X. "" On our return trip to Chicago, we booked the same motel through online travel website. You can be sure that we will do he same on our next trip out east.

This is a motel, not a hotel so you can't expect hotel updates. The room was opened with an actual key as well as the outside door but the room was HUGE. King sized bed was nice, room was loft like and bathroom included one of those old warming bulbs in front of tub. Water pressure wasn't great and water didn't get hot enough for me but was hot enough for husband to shower. Front desk was very nice, room was clean and we plan to stay again.
