If pitching a tent in the parking lot had been an option, I would have done it and been better off! This place is in horrible condition and the management doesn't seem to care in the least about it. I checked in at 6:00 p.m. and was given a room that had not been cleaned yet. Ok - no problem right? Just get a new room. New room, which was supposed to be non-smoking, reeked of cigarette smoke. When I asked if it would be possible to be switched, I was told that this was the LAST time I would be moved! Really?? I guess I was supposed to take the first room whether it had been cleaned or not. Hotel is in such bad condition you can't believe that they actually charge to stay there. Dirty carpets with burn marks, peeling wall paper appears to have been water damaged, paint scratched on all doors.... Our bathroom door didn't shut because it hit the toilet seat! Unbelievable. I have never written a negative review before in my life, but I want to make sure that no one stays here without being warned in advance.

I went to Syracuse for a job, and the hotel was paid for by the business that I went to visit. The front desk help, acted as if I was bothering them. The lobby had a funny smell. I was there in January of 2009, and when I arrived in my room, the temperature was about 40 degrees. The heating system was off, and the temp. outside was in the teens. The beds are more like trampolines. If someone even touches the bed while you're in it, you practically get bounced out of it. In the morning, the continental breakfast fruit, had definitely seen better days, and the morning desk person was just as disinterested in me, as the day clerk. The one bright thing about this motel, were the cleaning staff. The 3 women I encountered were very pleasant with broken English, and always had a smile on their faces. One of them, was actually on her knees, scrubbing the threshold of the elevator with a small scrub brush. I have to go back on the first week of August, to visit this same company, and they will put me up again for 3 days. I opted to spend my own hard earned money on a different hotel. The Days Inn had absolutely nothing in the rooms. No refrigerator or microwave, or anything else you find today, in a modern motel room. I won't even stay there for free. I was so tired on my trip, because the beds were absolutely horrible.

I am an economy traveller and firmly belive that you get what you pay for. When booking this trip for my wife's grandmother's funeral I was looking for the best deal I could get. This hotel was perfecly fine for what we paid out. Pros: The room was quite attractive to look at and was spotless. The bed was firm and the sheets/comforter clean. The cleaning crew did a good job but on one occasion did not make the bed as we had left clothes on it. They did leave a note explaining why they left it - nice touch and our fault not theirs. The location was great, then again in Syracuse you are never more than 15 minutes from anywhere anyway. The front desk crew were not over friendley but were not rude either. Again you get what you pay for. The resteraunts around the hotel were superb. We ate at Prontos pizza (take out), Joeys and Denny's for breakfast. All within walking distance (we'er talking yards!) Cons: The hallway on our non smoking hall smelled strongly of smoke. The room didn't. Bottom line - This is a clean economy hotel nothing more, nothing less.

Cheap and depressing room. Made a 5 minute phone call home to Canada, and it cost 12 dollars. I could have driven home more cheaply! Manager beat around the bush, but basically said they're independent franchise and can charge what they want.
Guess they gouge you for the phone to make up for the cheap room.
